MPEI International Division informs that since July 1 to July 5 by the invitation of the Minister of Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic Abbasov Ali Mammad oglu delegation from MPEI headed by Rector Nikolay D. Rogalev visited Baku.

 

MPEI delegation included Vice-Rectors Vladimir N. Zamolodchikov, Galina N. Kurdyukova, Vladimir G. Snegirev, head of Management and Informatics Department Alexander V. Bobryakov.

During the three days visit there took place several negotiations between MPEI working group and Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic. A delegation from Azerbaijan part included Minister Ali Abbasov, deputy minister E. Velizadeh, executive director of Fund of Development of Human Resources at the Ministry I. Aliev , Deputy head of office I. Mardanov, director of the Research and Development Center for High Technologies of the Ministry S. Abdullayeva, etc.

 

During negotiations the Minister told in details about the Ministry`s main activities, achievements and development plans of Azerbaijan in the sphere of high technologies. Nikolay D. Rogalev told the Minister about MPEI potential and also stated the main ideas concerning strategy of MPEI development for the next years. The parties in details discussed the areas of cooperation representing mutual interest, and they planned concrete actions on implementation of future plans. Negotiations came to the end with signing of Cooperation Agreement between Fund of Development of Human Resources of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic and MPEI.

 

During the first day of the visit MPEI delegation also visited Institute of Information Technologies of Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Republic. The director of the Institute - academician R. Alikuliyev - told the delegation about the modern equipment of the Institute, main scientific areas and current works.

 

During the second day of work MPEI delegation visited Azerbaijan Technical University where the Rector Mr. Mamedov and Vice-Rector M. Babangli received the delegation. In the University there took place the meeting with members of the Academic Council where Nikolay D. Rogalev made a report. As a result of negotiations Rectors of two Universities signed the Cooperation Agreement.

On July 3 MPEI delegation visited Ministry of Education of Republic Azerbaijan - deputy minister J. Bayramov received the delegation. 

 

Deputy secretary general Mr. Pireyev and director of the Department of International Cooperation F. Rzayev participated in the meeting. The deputy minister noted that MPEI has deserved popularity in Azerbaijan that is confirmed by its enlistment into foreign universities where training is supported within the state program by the Ministry of Education of Republic of Azerbaijan.

MPEI delegation also visited High-Tech Park of Azerbaijan Republic where the director S. Aghayev showed Park area and told about development plans of Park.

 

With a great interest MPEI delegation examined Education center of “Baku Electrical Distribution Grid”. The visit took place over the planned program by the invitation of Director of the center V. Aliyev, who noted that leading experts of the Center are MPEI alumni, and he suggested considering possibilities of cooperation.

 

There were negotiations with Rector of Azerbaijan Technological University (Ganja) A. Suleymanov who graduated from MPEI and arrived to Baku specially for the meeting with MPEI delegation. During the meeting there was reached understanding on cooperation agreement preparation between our Universities.

During the visit MPEI delegation was personally convinced that the economy of Azerbaijan dynamically develops, as well in the field of high technologies and energetics that opens wide prospects for cooperation between MPEI and Universities, scientific centers and other high-tech organizations of Azerbaijan.
