According to plans of Division of International relations, MPEI on October, 20-25 was visited by a delegation from Ilmenau University of Technology cooperating with MPEI in a program of supplemental education in German called «German Engineering Faculty MPEI-TU Ilmenau». Within the framework of this visit, the representatives of TU Ilmenau professors Hannes Toepfer, Mr. Klaus-Dieter Fritz and Mrs. Gudrun Matthies were participating in a number of meetings and were negotiating further cooperation with the representatives of MPEI. On October, 24 the delegation had a meeting with the MPEI Rector, professor N. Rogalev.

 

On October, 22 a grand academic colloquium and delivery of Ilmenau University of Technology diplomas took place. The graduates of MPEI were delivered diplomas of an international standard. Those were delivered by Prof. Hannes Toepfer who had been actively participating in carrying out surveys in the field of practical and theoretical information science. He is the head of the Theoretical Electrotechnics department at Ilmenau University of Technology. 73 graduates from MPEI have been delivered diplomas of the German higher school in the period from 2003 till 2012.

The process of extra enrolling students for the German course has been completed by now and 8 groups have already started to study. One of the studies forms within the framework of this program is delivering in German lectures about science according to the curriculum of Ilmenau University. Those are given by the German academic teachers in Moscow. Lectures on the following subjects have been delivered this year: «Power electronics», «Internet-content», «Developing digital circuits». More than 750 MPEI students of different specialties have taken part in the program so far. Eight students are studying in Germany at the moment.
