The educational program “Digital Information Modeling
of Building and Facility Engineering Systems” (field of Study 13.04.01 – Heat Power Engineering and
Thermal Engineering) is a joint initiative of the Department of heat and mass
transfer processes and installations and the company “Open Technologies
Engineering”.
Part of the coursework is
conducted at the partner’s specialized department “Data Centers”, with classes delivered by professionals of the
company.

“Open Technologies
Engineering” (OTE) is the parent company of the “Open Technologies” and one of
Russia’s leading organizations in data center design and construction. The
company has many years of successful experience implementing large-scale data
center projects.
The “Data Centers” department
was established within the Institute of Energy Efficiency and Hydrogen
Technologies at MPEI with support from OTE. Its experts are practicing OTE
engineers who deliver courses in the following disciplines:
1.
Ventilation
and air conditioning systems;
2. Power supply systems for data centers;
3. Data сenter automation, control, and communication systems;
4.
Data center operations;
5.
Business
planning and project management.
The master’s program aims to
train highly qualified professionals, designers of engineering systems and BIM
specialists who are capable of implementing and applying digital information
modeling technologies in the design and construction of complex engineering
facilities such as data centers, high-rise buildings, cultural and
entertainment complexes, stadiums and etc.

The transition of the
construction industry to Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies is
already underway. The demand for specialists in digital modeling of building
engineering systems is driven by the widespread adoption of digital
technologies across the industry.
Developing digital models of
buildings and their engineering systems at the design stage enables advanced
engineering analysis and optimization of key performance indicators such as
energy consumption and efficiency.
