MPEI and Malaysia: new perspectives of cooperation in the power engineering field

On February 17, 2025, a delegation from Malaysia headed by Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation visited MPEI. The visit was devoted to the development of international cooperation in science and education.

During the meeting, the delegation representatives toured the laboratories of the Voltage Engineering and Electrophysics Department (HVEE), Relay Protection and Automation of Energy Systems​ (PACS) of the Institute of Electric Power Engineering (IEPE), as well as the Department of Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) of the Institute of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering (ITNPE).

The guests were particularly interested in the uranium-water subcritical stand, which is the basis for scientific research and training of specialists in the field of nuclear power engineering.

The delegation highly appreciated the scientific and educational potential of MPEI. The key area of discussion was the prospect of internships for Malaysian students and professors at our university.

​MPEI continues to expand international relations, creating new opportunities for exchange of knowledge and experience. The visit of the delegation from Malaysia has become an important step towards strengthening of partnership relations in the field of education and science in the power engineering field.
