The programs are aimed at students who have achieved high results in studies and scientific research, as well as winners of various Olympiads, competitions, shows and contests. Foreign students of Rosatom's core universities studying for a master's degree in nuclear and related specialties took part in the competition for the scholarship. Three MPEI students became winners. Among the students-citizens of the CIS countries who received personal scholarships was Aidar Kenzhalyev (Kyrgyz Republic), a master's student of ITAE in the direction of Heat Power Engineering and Thermal Engineering. The winners of the personal scholarships of the IAEA's Maria Sklodowska-Kurie Program were awarded by the IAEA. Marie Sklodowska-Curie Program (MSCFP) was awarded to two students of the MPEI Preparatory Faculty: Ayşe Asena Aslan (Turkey) and Mei Thu Chan Nyein (Myanmar). Students shared their expressions. Ayşe Asena Aslan: I am currently enrolled in the Thermal Energy Engineering and Thermal Engineering Master's Program at MPEI. I will study in Russia for 3 years with Russian language education. First of all, I would like to thank Rosatom State Corporation for supporting my Master's Program. It is a great honor for me to be included in this program from Turkey. The story of my participation in this program was a master's program in Russia published by Akkuyu Nuclear Energy, which was established by Rosatom in cooperation with Russia and Turkey. After being accepted, I applied to the IAEA Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship Program. Thanks to this program, scholarship support is provided every year to women who want to work in the nuclear field. (MSCFP.iaea.org) The program not only provides scholarships, but also internships and training in the nuclear field. I also want to tell you about the main reason why I applied to these programs and my education. I graduated from the Department of Chemistry of Ege University (Turkey). During this period, I was interested in every topic in the nuclear field, including my undergraduate thesis project. While studying chemistry, we took many courses in the nuclear field and I have always enjoyed these courses. In the last year of my undergraduate semester, we prepared our thesis project by developing a composite with radiation shelves. During this time, while researching the effects of radiation, I realized how much I wanted to work in the nuclear field. I have always wanted to work in the energy and nuclear fields while researching master's degree programs. I have come one-step closer to my goals by being accepted from the Moscow Institute of Energy Engineering. Finally, I want to be a successful woman in the nuclear field. Working in the nuclear field is a really challenging and demanding field, but it also has many benefits when used correctly. With the support I have received from Rosatom and the IAEA, I want to inspire women who want to work in this field with my experiences and future work topics. I think that the IAEA's "Atom for Peace and Development" vision actually explains many issues. By adhering to this vision, we can witness many scientific achievements and protect our world as well. I would like to thank the dear University Members and Rosatom who supported me in explaining the IAEA Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship Program I hope that what I have said will encourage women who want to work in the Nuclear field. May Thu Chan Nyein: This scholarship is important for me because I am government employee in the department of electric power planning, Ministry of Electric Power, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. I get many opportunities for my country to support Nuclear power in electricity generation. Therefore, I decided to apply for the scholarship. When I found the result of selected lists I was extremely happy. Receiving the IAEA scholarship is an incredible honor that will not only provide financial support but also grant access to a network of experts and resources within the field. Aidar Kenzhalyev: I am studying at MPEI in the field of Control Systems Automation. The competition consisted of three rounds, and the most difficult thing was to solve a practical case. I successfully coped with this task. It is important to just try and apply. Winning the competition is an additional opportunity for me to strengthen my portfolio and increase my chances for further success in the professional sphere. In the future, I plan to develop my hard and soft skills both in the energy field and beyond. I would like to thank my supervisor and mentor, Sergey Mezin who helped me with the application procedure. /lang/en/main/News/PublishingImages/2024/18-01-1m.jpgGEIDCO representatives visited MPEI 10.01.2024 10:00On January 10th, 2024, the representatives of the Organization for Development and Cooperation of global energy unification GEIDCO visited MPEI. MPEI program “Actual tasks of renewable energy”, implemented in 2023 in the RAFU, will combine an educational and cultural-historical track and will last until December 15th. Program participants are representatives of Ahmed Drayi in Adrar, who have passed the competitive admissions. During the program lectures, practical classes, excursions to scientific laboratories and centers of the MPEI, cultural and historical track with a visit to the heart of Red Square and much more are planned. “As a part of the establishment of modern vectors of sectoral international cooperation, Ahmed Draya University in Adrara is a strategic MPEI partner in Algeria, cooperating in the fields of educational methodological and research work, as well as in the field of cultural relations and international academic mobility”, Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, commented. RAFU is a structure contributing the integrations of the different approaches of Russian universities to the development of cooperation with African countries, in order to provide an effective exchange of information on best practices in building relationships and implementing projects. The primary tasks of the RAFU are the creation of a unified educational and scientific space, development of mechanisms for the development of academic and student mobility, as well as the promotion of intercultural dialogue and mutual enrichment of cultures and languages. https://mpei.ru/news/PublishingImages/2023/08-12-3m.jpgMPEI has developed an energy-efficient method of steel production 08.12.2023 8:00MPEI scientists have developed a method for straight liquid-phase reduction of steel from ores, characterized by reduced energy consumption. As a result of the research, MPEI scientists have created a design for a perspective reactor for the continuous reduction of iron with a carbon-hydrogen mixture without the use of coal and coke. The energy source for the reduction reactions is natural gas. The developed method excludes coking, sintering and blast domain production and significantly reduces the technological process of steel smelting. The realization of this development provides for the construction of a fundamentally new metallurgical enterprise. “The integration of the technology, developed by MPEI scientists will almost halve the energy intensity of steel production and emissions of pollutants into the environment. This effect is achieved through the realization of a continuous and one-stage process of direct reduction of iron” – commented Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector. One of the trends in the development of the steel industry at the global level is the integration of the technologies for non-domain iron recovery. The most famous example of such technology is Midrex, and among the domestic developments is ROMELT. The method developed at MPEI excludes additional equipment for producing reducing gas, as implemented in Midrex and does not use coal, which is necessary in ROMELT. With a grant support, the work was carried out in the project “Development and research of constructive solutions for the use of hydrogen and increasing the efficiency of the iron reduction process in steel production" for the implementation of the research program “Priority 2030: Technologies of the Future” 2022-2024, by Konstantin Stroganov, project manager Ph.D. (Techn.), Associate Professor of the Department of Innovative Technologies for High-Tech Industries. https://mpei.ru/news/PublishingImages/icon_mini/2022/new/2.pngMPEI and Vietnam Electricity Company held a working meeting 04.12.2023 15:00 MPEI and Vietnam Electricity Company held a working meeting On November 27, 2023, during his working trip to Vietnam, Alexander Tarasov, MPEIVice-Rector on International Relations visited Vietnam Electricity Company (EVN) in Hanoi.
